Fiber Route Business Case

A telecommunications company considering a new fiber route sought help developing the financial business case before committing capital. Management needed to understand how construction spending, customer acquisition, and revenue timing would affect returns, and which assumptions would have the greatest influence on the investment.

Our approach builds an editable financial model incorporating the company’s construction costs, capital spending schedule, and operating inputs. We work with management on customer acquisition and revenue timing assumptions, develop financial projections, and test downside, base, and upside scenarios. Sensitivity analysis highlights the variables that drive returns and the risks that warrant closer attention. A board-ready presentation connects the proposed route to its underlying assumptions and economics.

The objective is to give management and its board a clear basis for evaluating the investment, with a model they can update as customer commitments, project costs, and timing become better defined.
